The arrangements have been made and we are officially 17
days away from the Second Annual Great #CommercialGirl Draft. It looks to be a
lively draft on New Year’s Day 2013 as old rivals and new faces clash to
determine the proper order of the ladies who appear in the 30-second ads that
interrupt our precious football games. Because this is the second
#CommercialGirl draft, this allows for some great twists to make this more
competitive and compelling. But first, let’s go over the original rules:
- If she is a commercial she can be drafted.
- The only exceptions are those #CommercialGirls who have already achieved mainstream fame as actresses, musicians, supermodels, news anchors, or other entertainers.
- A good rule of thumb is that if we know her name without looking it up there’s a 98% chance she’s NOT a true #CommercialGirl. If we can only refer to her as “The girl from that commercial,” there’s a 99% chance she IS a true #CommercialGirl.
- Any questionable picks will be brought to a vote by your fellow #CommercialGirl Draft participants. It slows the process down to a grinding halt so try not to bend the rules too much.
Now, on to the new wrinkles of the second edition:
- If you participated in the inaugural #CommercialGirl Draft you get to keep your roster. This is important because you can trade your roster for draft positioning or others’ drafted #CommercialGirls. Use your roster wisely.
- There will be five rounds but there will also be an 8 #CommercialGirl Roster Limit! Anyone who has reached their limit of eight prior to the conclusion of the draft must either:
- Concede their remaining picks
- Trade roster members to continue participation
- Waive roster members to continue participation
- Any previously drafted #CommercialGirl who has been waived by their drafter is immediately eligible for redrafting
- The 2013 #CommercialGirl Draft will be a Snake Draft, meaning the draft order is reversed in every successive round.
If
you need a refresher, here is the post breaking down the original#CommercialGirl Draft. Refer to your roster there. And now, without any further
ado, here is the first round draft order of the Second Annual #CommercialGirl
Draft.
